Daycare description / philosophy

Thank you for your interest in my day home. My name is Patricia, I am a mother of a 16 month old girl, and I would like to offer private child care for your children from my home. We are located in Aspen glen, in the city of Spruce Grove, I have a large fenced back yard, close to walking trails, soccer fields and parks to play in. I will only be accepting a small number of kids as I wish to maintain a more child focused atmosphere where there is still time to attend to each child individually.

My goal is to provide a safe, secure and nurturing place for children where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. I believe children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule. Activities will be offered which stimulate sensory motor development, language development and social interaction. The development of strong self-esteem is also a major goal. Children will be taught to respect themselves, each other, adults and property. It is important for parents to feel good about bringing their children to a safe and nourishing environment. It is my privilege to assure that every child experiences these basic rights.

Activities are scheduled but we often follow child initiated activities to encourage curiosity and the wonderment of life. Activities are well-balanced for group and free play, and consist of learning activities that will help your child develop his/her emotional, physical, intellectual and social skills.

Our days will vary to fit the needs of you and your child. I provide high-quality full- or part-time childcare as well as before and after school care for children 1 through 12 years. Children will be served Breakfast (when required), Lunch and 2 snacks prepared in accordance with Canadian food guidelines. My day home will be open from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm.

I am first aid and CPR certified through Red Cross, can provide a recent clear criminal record check including vulnerable sector, as well as recent clear child care intervention record check.
